Gary Moore
Born: Apr 4, 1952 Died: Feb 16 2011
If you grew up in the rock roll world or somewhere around it you know the band Thin Lizzy but you might not know Gary Moore who filled the bands sound with wild and gripping guitar riffs.
Born in Belfast Ireland, Moore learned how to play the guitar at a young age. Influenced by such legendary rockers as Elvis Presley, Albert King, The Beatles, and most notable Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac, he slowly started to build upon his own style of guitar.
Moving to Dublin at age 16 he began a career that has spanned more that two decades and produced over 10 solo albums. Joining and then leaving the band only to return several years later, Moore recorded with Thin Lizzy on the acclaimed album Black Rose. Reaching #2 on the British charts the Black Rose album has been described as the bands most successful album.
Gary Moore will be missed but not forgotten, the world has lost a true talent but the guitar gods have a new member to jam with. The Story Place celebrates your life.
